Integrations
WordPress integration
Connect a WordPress site so FactLatch knows which pages you publish.
The FactLatch plugin tells FactLatch which posts and pages you have published. It does not track anything by itself: you still choose what to track. FactLatch is not hosted inside WordPress and never edits your content.
Connect
- Install the plugin zip in WordPress (Plugins, Add New, Upload). It needs WordPress 6.0 and PHP 7.4 or newer, and your site must be reachable over https.
- In FactLatch open Account, Integrations, WordPress and choose Connect WordPress. A one-time code is shown once and expires after 15 minutes.
- In WordPress open Settings, FactLatch and paste the code. FactLatch checks that your site really answers for that code, then the plugin runs the first sync.
What is sent, and what is not
- Sent for each published post or page: its id, type, address, title, status and last modified time. Also the site address and the plugin and WordPress versions.
- Never sent: post content, excerpts, drafts, private or password-protected posts, comments, users, custom fields, settings or any WordPress password.
- FactLatch pushes nothing into WordPress. It only reads public pages itself, later, when you scan or import.
Keeping it up to date
After the first sync the plugin sends one small event when a post is published, updated, unpublished or trashed, and repeats a full check about once a day. Repeated events change nothing twice. If FactLatch is unavailable your authors can still publish: the plugin retries later and shows the problem in Settings, FactLatch. Sync now asks for a fresh inventory at the plugin's next check, which can take up to about 15 minutes on a quiet site.
Disconnect
Disconnect in WordPress or in FactLatch. The credential stops working at once. The facts you already track and their history are kept.
Local or private sites cannot connect to the hosted FactLatch, and WordPress Multisite is not supported. The plugin is installed from a zip; it is not on the WordPress plugin directory yet.
