Terms
Last updated 6 October 2026
This describes how FactLatch works today. It has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer and may change before FactLatch is generally available.
These terms describe how FactLatch may be used. By creating an account or using the free scanner you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use FactLatch.
01What FactLatch does
FactLatch scans web pages and documents and suggests what may be worth tracking. For what you choose to track, it checks the page, file or source again and tells you when it changes, so a person can review it.
02What FactLatch does not do
- It does not decide what is true. A change on a source does not mean your published claim is wrong.
- It does not edit, publish or change your website.
- It can miss changes, miss items, or flag something that does not need action. Results are signals for you to review, not advice, and are not guaranteed to be complete or correct.
- You remain responsible for what you publish.
03Your account
Give accurate information, keep your password private, and tell FactLatch if you think your account was used without your permission. You are responsible for activity in your workspace.
04Acceptable use
- Scan and monitor only websites and sources you are entitled to look at. FactLatch reads public pages only.
- Do not use FactLatch to overload, probe or attack any site, or to get around its rate limits or security.
- Do not submit addresses that point at private or internal networks. FactLatch refuses them.
- Do not misuse the service to harass anyone or to publish unlawful material.
05Third-party content
Pages and sources belong to their owners. FactLatch keeps only the short extracts it needs to compare a source over time. Linking a source to a claim does not mean the source endorses it.
06The free scanner
The free scanner reads a limited set of a site's pages, or the one page or document you name, and is limited to protect the sites it reads. It shows a preview, not a complete audit, and its limits can change.
07Availability and changes
FactLatch is provided as it is. It may change, be interrupted or be withdrawn. We may update these terms; continued use after a change means you accept it.
08Ending use
You can stop using FactLatch at any time. We may suspend or end access that breaks these terms or puts the service or others at risk.
09Liability
To the extent the law allows, FactLatch is not liable for losses that come from relying on its results or from the service being unavailable. Nothing here limits rights that cannot be limited by law.
