Monitoring and review
Understanding statuses
What every label in FactLatch means, and what it does not.
Every state has a word and a shape, so it is readable without colour. None of them says your fact is wrong: only a person decides that.
A tracked item
- MonitoringFactLatch is monitoring this source for changes.
- Awaiting first checkThe source has not been checked yet. Nothing has been found wrong.
- Change detectedThe source now shows a different value. A person decides whether the page needs an update.
- Needs reviewFactLatch is not certain enough to say. It asks you instead of guessing.
- Source unavailableThe source could not be read. This does not mean your fact is wrong.
- Source unclearMore than one source is equally likely, or the link is too weak to rely on.
A cited source, at import
- Ready to monitorFactLatch read the cited page and found clear evidence for this fact. Select it to start monitoring.
- Needs reviewFactLatch found possible evidence on the cited page, but it is ambiguous or weak, and FactLatch will not guess which place is right.
- Citation found, evidence not confirmedFactLatch read the cited page but could not find clear evidence for this exact fact on it, so there is nothing to monitor yet. This does not mean the citation or the fact is wrong.
- Source unavailableFactLatch could not read the cited page right now (it may block automated readers, need JavaScript, or be temporarily down). This says nothing about the fact itself. Try again later.
