Monitoring and review
What happens when FactLatch is unsure
It asks you instead of guessing.
A false alert makes every later alert easier to ignore, so FactLatch prefers to ask you over guessing.
- If a source holds more than one plausible value, or the match is weak, the fact is marked Needs review. Nothing is monitored and no alert is sent.
- If the cited page is readable but the fact cannot be found on it, you see that the evidence was not confirmed. Neither the page nor the citation is judged wrong.
- If a source cannot be read, you see Source unavailable. That says nothing about your fact, and a later check can succeed.
- If a monitored source later changes in a way FactLatch cannot interpret with confidence, it goes to your review list rather than becoming an alert.
In every case you can still look at the evidence and decide yourself.
